The Person Formerly known as “Mark” (Acts 3)

With a new found confidence born from the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, Peter and John let their faith lose. I love Luke’s editorial remarks about the crowd watching this narative unfold.

“..they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging….,
and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what happened to him” (Acts 3:10)

In the past couple of years, I have lost about 50 pounds, got rid of the howdy-doody haircut, and dawned new glasses. I get a kick out of people who have not seen me in a long time. They occasionally have a hard time recognizing me, until the corny jokes start coming.

You get the idea that the people in this community had a hard time recognizing the “beggar” because that was all he was known as. He lost and title, and gained life. Maybe you need to lose a title, (“Whiner, Debtor, Lier,…..”) in order to gain life. Will something be different about you today? Amaze people with what God is doing in you.

I put up a new pic soon, Gina. It may not be as good as the blond highlights I received from you years ago. Blessings,
