What do you value in a good movie? Action, Romance, Comedy, Animation, Directing, Classic Actors, Matthew McConaugheygn? You have a set of core values when it comes to movies. I always love movies with strong male actors who are heroic in their care for the loved ones. First Knight is my all-time favorite movie. Classic Actors, Medieval Times, Strong Leaders, Great Fights, and Love Wins. What a movie!
Churches have core values, just like movies. I hope these core values resonate in you, and compel you to become more like Christ in your everyday. These values are like God directing the storyline of our lives.
For the next few days I am going to stick to blogging about the core values of True Life Church. Core Values are principles that command us to action. At TLC we have 7 core values:
1. Personal Transformation – Everyday is an opportunity to discover God’s purpose.
2. Servant Leadership – Leadership is putting other’s needs in front of my own.
3. Diversity - By accepting people who are not like me I am reflecting a God who is not like me.
4. Divine Risk – Everything is an experiment.
5. Sacrificial Giving – Neither a person nor a church can out give God.
6. Cultural Relevance – Being irrelevant to my neighbor is being irreverent to the Incarnation of Christ.
7. R.E.A.L Worship – Adoration of God should be Reverent, Engaging, Authentic, and Life-changing.
