Back in God’s Kindergarten

There is a book by Robert Fulghum entitledAll I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten“. God has been leading me this week in two Kindergarten lessons for Church Planting: Patience & Endurance.

Patience – Why does good news seem to be the tortoise and bad news the hare in the proverbial race? In the end the tortoise wins, but it is tough to be a fan of the turtle. He just moves so stinkin’ slow.

Endurance – Endurance is simply keeping on a right path even when it becomes steep and rocky. You need endurance in parenting (I was up 4 times in the night last night), in school work, in career, in….. well basically, everything. Most people start with endurance and then try to find the right path. This rarely works. They end up enduring a job they hate, enduring a relationship that is draining, and enduring kids that drive them crazy.

1. First find the right path

– this can be called “the road less travelled”

– Godly principles for which you are willing to devote your life

2. Then, keep your head up and keep walking.

being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience”

Colossians 1:11 (New International Version)
