In a few weeks we will have the grand opening of TrueLife Church, and a new phase of this church plant will begin. Simultaneously, I am going to begin a new segment on my blog called “Big Question Tuesday”. Starting Sunday, Dec. 9th, attenders of TrueLife Church can drop a connection card into the offering with a question for the blog.
I will take at least one question from Sunday and attempt to answer it through a video blog on Tuesdays. I love this concept, but I am also a little nervous. We all have big questions, and not all questions can be answered.
I believe, however, that it is very important to give each other to room to stretch our thoughts, examine our logic, and even question our faith.
Mother Teresa did it: Time’s Online, UK article about Mother Teresa own questions about Faith
Jesus did it: Mark 15:34
“And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?’—which means, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’”
Spiritual growth is not unidirectional: Pulpit to pew. It is multi-directional: Pulpit to pew; Pew to pulpit, pew to pew.
Help me prepare for this one. What kind of questions do you think will be asked?
I heard this question recently, though it wasn’t asked of me to explain…but I could easily see this question coming up in some form:
“How do you get to a point of having faith (as in faith in Christ) when you don’t believe in the Bible?”
