It’s a cool, crisp Monday morning and across the country people are remembering the life and leadership of Martin Luther King, Jr. One of the many places I want to visit is Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, where Rev. King and his father pastored.
The ultimate sign of the equality of man is found in the Gospel. It is a strong reminder that skin color, gender, or nationality does not raise your worth in Christ.
Galatians 3:26-29 (New International Version)
“26You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Here is the entire speech of Marin Luther King, Jr entitled “I have a dream” given on August 28, 1963 during the “March on Washington”. It is 17 minutes long, and worth the time.
