Napkin Theology

I am starting a new series this sunday entitled “Living Missional Lives: A Napkin Theology Series”.  Have you ever doodled on a napkin while waiting to be served, and ended up writing something profound or drawing something meaningful to you?

Many great stories and and great songs began as doodles on a napkin. While eating lunch with his publisher, Saint-Exupery doodle a picture of a little boy.  His publisher asked him who that was, and Saint-Exupery replied that it was just “a little fellow I carry around in my heart.”

His publisher suggested, Saint-Exupery write a book about the little fellow, and in 1943 the beloved children’s fairy tale “The Little Prince” was born.  It started as a napkin doodle, and grew up to sell more than 50 million copies in over 180 languages.

Never apologize for doodling.
