28 Days in Colossians: Days 2 & 3 (Colossians 1:1-23)

We are at the beginning of the 28 days in Colossians, and I am glad you are on the journey with me.  I took yesterday off from blogging to help lay down a new floor in our kitchen. (To be truthful, I more like cheered on my father-in-law and wife as they did the work).  It looks incredible.  It feels like a brand new house.  It felt so good that we actually continued on and put it in the front room where I have my home office.

Colossians 1:15-17 reminds me that God is holding things together behind the scenes.  As we pulled up the carpet in this front room, I was thankful that the sub-floor was in great condition.  No weak spots, holes, or problems.  I don’t think about the sub-floor in my home much.  I mainly think about the carpet, tile, and vinyl that sits on top of it.  However, I know the sub-floor is what actually makes the others possible.

Most of us don’t think about God holding together every minute of everyday.  Even the moments that don’t seem too spiritual.  He is inviting us to build a solid foundation with Him:  “He is before all things, and in him all things hold together”.  Every minute of every day:  Brought to you by the One who Holds all things together.

When you can’t hold it all together, remember that Christ can. He has a great track record.  Unlike my floor, it’s guaranteed for life.
